Thank you for spending a moment with me. I honor you for considering getting help...before letting go of your relationship. It’s wise for many reasons.

Few of us have models for what we truly want: a relationship with more intimacy, pleasure, and companionship than any previous generation has ever dreamed possible. And, few of us are free from the unconscious expectations, projections and patterns that prevent us from creating a better way on our own.

Even so, with a little assistance, the relationship we already have is the best possible place from which to begin anew.

One way I encourage this transformation I call speaking the subtext. On behalf of each partner, and with their confirmation, I express the vulnerable feelings behind conflicting conversation. When each partner learns to do this reliably for him/her self, a couple begins to experience the Power of Two.

I’m aware that research suggests that the alliance between client(s) and counselor, more than any method, makes a positive outcome.
